Edge Commercial, LLC is a full-service general contracting and construction management firm based in Grimes, Iowa.
The company was formed by five partners; Ward Phifer, Dean Armantrout, DJ Opdahl and Jason Ceretti, who were previously employees of a successful commercial construction company led by Ward Phifer, and prominent real estate businessman, Denny Elwell, who helped provide financial strength, business savvy, and a strong network of relationships and opportunities.
The partners completed an Asset Purchase of the former company in July of 2008 in the midst of the downturn in the economy, foreclosure and bankruptcy crisis and record low unemployment. Through their broad range of experience, ingenuity and their ability to maintain a lean, aggressive and productive staff, Edge was able to work through this tough time as a start-up company has now become one of the premier contractors in their market.
Edge Commercial is focused on 3 market segments: Healthcare Construction, Commercial Contracting, and Industrial Construction and Maintenance. These disciplines are unique and require specific management and staff to provide the high level of service each demand. Edge Commercial has employed the top professionals in these areas and provides them with the guidance, support and trust needed to make them successful.
Edge Commercial is a non-union company, which allows us to perform or hire all aspects of the project as we see fit.
In 2008, sister company, DML Construction Services was added to subcontract directly to Edge for union millwright, laborer, and concrete finishing that may be required or preferred by our clients.
